Mandy Hunter, DNP, CRNP

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner

Mandy Hunter completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at Jacksonville State University in 2008. In 2019, she returned to the same university to pursue her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. In the spring of 2022, she successfully graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from Jacksonville State University and became a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner in the summer of the same year. Mandy is currently on track to complete her DNP degree in August 2023.

Throughout her career, Mandy has specialized in neurosciences, where she developed a passion for educating patients while providing care to individuals with neurological diseases and those who underwent neurosurgery. She later took on the role of Stroke Program Coordinator, which further nurtured her interest in primary and secondary prevention. Mandy has also gained experience in a Step-Down unit, caring for patients with cardiac conditions and complex care needs. These diverse areas of practice have solidified her commitment to providing exceptional care and support to her patients.

Mandy resides in North Gadsden and cherishes her free time spent with her husband, two daughters (including a stepdaughter, whom she affectionately refers to as a “bonus gift”), and their rescue dog. She enjoys outdoor activities, especially when the weather is pleasant, and during the fall season, she can often be found watching college football on Saturdays.

 

Misty Sharp Ingram, CRNP

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner

Misty Sharp Ingram began her journey in the healthcare field in 2000 when she started as a Medical Assistant (MA). Over the years she pursued further education to enhance her nursing career. She successfully completed her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Gadsden State and later obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Jacksonville State University. Additionally, Misty earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain College of Nursing.

Mrs. Ingram’s dedication and expertise are acknowledged through her double board certification from both the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). 

Throughout her professional journey, Misty has gained valuable experience in various healthcare settings, including Medical/Surgical, Labor and Delivery, Cardiac Step-down, Home Health, and Hospice. Each of these roles has been incredibly fulfilling in its own unique way.

Misty is genuinely excited about the opportunity to serve the patients at Valley Care DPC and collaborate with Dr. Koe and the esteemed team here. She resides in Cherokee County and loves spending time with her husband, five children, two grandsons, and a beautiful granddaughter.

 

Virginia Rutledge, CRNP

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner

Virginia Rutledge is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has been a part of the Wills Valley Family Medicine team since 2017. She successfully completed her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) at Northeast Alabama Community College, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at Jacksonville State University. In 2016, Virginia earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

With a nursing background primarily focused on Medical/Surgical care, Virginia has also accumulated six years of hospice experience and continues to work part-time with hospice patients. She derives great satisfaction from providing care to patients of all ages and managing both acute and chronic conditions.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Virginia recently became a grandmother to two adorable grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoys dedicating her free time to these precious new additions to her life.

 

Claudia Moreno

Office Manager

Claudia Moreno is the Office Manager for Wills Valley Family Medicine. She has been an integral part of Dr. Koe’s clinic team since 2008. Claudia lives in Collinsville, AL with her two beautiful children, and has lived here since moving to the US when she was 11 years old. After graduating high school, Dr. Koe immediately hired her to work at the clinic at age 18, and aside from a year or two spent elsewhere, she returned 8 years ago and has been on the team ever since. Claudia began part time at the clinic after being recommended by the Collinsville librarian for her admirable work ethic and industrious nature.

In the years that followed, Claudia was hired full time, and has continued to learn as much as possible about overseeing a medical office in a managerial role. Her many skills include directing employees for Dr. Koe, diving deeper into medical coding and billing, and learning accounting skills.

At Wills Valley Family Medicine, Claudia’s many roles include answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, managing referrals, and handling medical records. Claudia is in charge of staff, and is available to answer questions you have about insurance, prior authorization, drug coverage, billing and appointments. She is always available for your phone calls and will do her best to help you in any way she can. Claudia is bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English, so she is also available for interpretation and translates the clinic handouts and correspondence when needed. She is also a trained phlebotomist and lab assistant.

Jessica Diaz

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

Jessica Diaz has been working as a medical assistant at Wills Valley Family Medicine since August 2021. Her job duties include phlebotomy and calling patients with lab results. She speaks fluent Spanish, so she also helps to provide bilingual patient care when needed.

Jessica is an active soccer Mom and loves spending her free time watching her son Isaac play the sport.

 

Whitney Dotson

Medical Assistant

Whitney was born and raised in Eastern Kentucky. Following her high school graduation, she pursued a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant until her relocation to Alabama in November 2022. In early June, she joined the team at Wills Valley Family Medicine, assuming the role of a medical assistant.

Whitney takes great pleasure in working alongside her colleagues and engaging with our valued patients. Her ultimate goal is to continue her education and become a pediatrician.

Outside of work, Whitney finds enjoyment in traveling, fishing, and spending time with her cows and dogs.

Summer Gilreath

Clinical Supervisor

Summer Gilreath is the clinic Lab Manager, and has been with Wills Valley Family Medicine since 2011. A Sand Mountain, Alabama native, Summer completed her Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting Degree from Northeast Alabama Community College. She first came to the clinic as a student and did her internship with Dr. Koe. Dr. Koe hired her after seeing her incredible work ethic during her internship, and Ms. Gilreath has been a part of the Wills Valley family ever since.

Summer is in charge of all aspects of the back-office procedures, including triage, injections, phlebotomy, EKGs and minor office surgeries. She is also available for your phone calls and questions and is happy to help in any way she can.

When Summer has some free time, she enjoys traveling adventures, riding motorcycles and spending quality time with her family.

Sindy Mendoza

Receptionist

Sindy Mendoza joined the team at Wills Valley Family Medicine in 2014. Sindy is the clinic receptionist. She answers telephones and is the friendly face behind the clinic check-in window.

Ms. Mendoza verifies insurance eligibility, collects co-pays, and submits all medication refills to the doctor and nurse practitioners. Sindy is also a trained phlebotomist and handles Medicaid referrals. She will assist you in any way she can and is always happy to help patients.

When Sindy is away from the office, she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and being in nature. She has very fond memories of a kayak trip several of the ladies from the office experienced together.

 

Candy Speakman 

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

Candy Speakman joined the Wills Valley Family Medicine team in 2018. Candy is a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant and Certified Phlebotomy Technician. She is a graduate of Northeast Alabama Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting Degree.

At the clinic, Candy handles patient triage, in-office testing and phlebotomy, patient referrals, and answers patient phone calls.

While family is the most important thing to her, she also enjoys crafting when time allows. As a matter of fact, Candy designed our WVFM clinic logo.

 

 

Kendra Whitley

Medical Assistant

Kendra is one of Collinsville’s own and we are pleased to have her as part of our team. Taking vitals, drawing blood, notifying patients of their lab results and handling referrals are some of Kendra’s many responsibilities.

Away from the office, Kendra enjoys spending quality time watching her three boys play baseball and socializing with friends.

 

Teresa Wright

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

Teresa Wright has been a key member of Dr. Koe’s clinic team at Wills Valley Family Medicine since 2018. Teresa graduated from Northeast Alabama Community College with an Associate of Applied Science for Medical Assisting Degree. She holds National Certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, and an EKG Technician.

Ms. Wright is the office scheduling and pain management coordinator. She helps with many aspects of a medical office, including payment and phlebotomy procedures and enjoys ensuring that all patients have the best possible experience at Wills Valley Family Medicine.

In Teresa’s off time, she loves to make many different types of crafts including t-shirts for our clinic and many others.
